Day 01.Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, start driving you Addis Ababa to Bale
Mountains through the spectacular great Riftvalley of Ethiopia (will be transferred to your
reserved hotel)
Arrival to Bale Mountains headquarters, meet with your guide and discuss the plan. in time
for a leisurely afternoon hike, possibly spotting two endemic mammals that frequent seen to
the area: Menelik’s Bushbuck and the Mountain Nyala. Birds in this area include the Blue
Winged Goose, the Spot-Breasted Lapwing, the Abyssinian Long Claw, Wattled Ibis, Black
Headed Siskin, Rouget’s Rail, and numerous other species. 2hrs walk.
Overnight Gessay Campsite. 3000m.
Day 02. Start Trekking from Gessay grassland to Adelay woodland.
Morning After breakfast, start hike to Adelay for about 6-7 hours hiking in the northern Gessay
Grasslands and the northern woodland. On this day hike we will be passing through Hygenia
and Juniper tree forest, on the way we will spot mammals such as Olive Baboon, Menilik’s
buskbuck, Mountain Nyala, Bohor Reedbuck and numerous bird species with lash ever green
Woodland.
Overnight Adelay campsite 3000m
Day 03. Trekking Adelay to Habera
Today after breakfast heading to Habera across through the web valley area and pass to the
wood land part of the national park, high chance to see the rare and endangered Ethiopian
Wolf , Gaint mole rat and endemic birds of Ethiopia. 18km hike.
Overnight Habera campsite, 3,500m
Day 04. Trekking to wasema:-
Trek to Wasema through a beautiful landscape with stunning views. Pass through Mararo
Valley where the Lammergeyer and Verraux Eagles keep nests. There will also be a chance to
seeing the Ethiopian Wolf and other species of birds. 5-6 hrs walk 19 km.
Overnight wassema Camping 3,800m.
Day 05. Trekking Wassema to Rafu
Today you will be walking through a beautiful landscape. Near Rafu you will enjoy panoramic
view of Rafu Rock pillars which are caused by volcanic lava flow. 5-6 hrs walk 18 km.
Overnight rafu Camping 4,000m.
Day 06. Trekking from rafu to GerbeGuracha
After breakfast trekking on the one of the largest Afro alpine (plateau) in entire of Africa meet
and greeting one of the Rarest Canine species in world the Ethiopian wolf, Klipspringer, Rock
Hyraxs, Abyssinian hare and so many different species of birds beside wildlife and bird
watching the landscapes itself breathtaking.
Overnight Garba Guracha (black lake) campsite 4,000m
Day 07. Morning after breakfast start short hiking and meet with our vehicle at Sanetti
campsite. we will load our gears to vehicle and head to the remaining tropical rain forest of
Harenna by passing through the Second highest point of Ethiopia Called Tullu Deemtu
(4377masl) which will be windy as it covers the all weather of Africa because of its Elevation
over 4000 m chance to see the Starcks Hare, Endemic Gaint molerat and water birds etc.
After lunch (in the afternoon) head to the remaining tropical rain forest of Harenna after we
settled Down we will go for night game drive looking for Gaint forest hog, bush pig, African
wolf and have a chance to see leopard and lion.
Overnight Harenna Forest 2700m
Day 08: Morning after breakfast start driving to Manyate coffee forest toward south through
the ever green forest of Harenna then come back for lunch at campsite afternoon hiking to
bamboo forest to see the gusa waterfall, in this area we will have a chance to see Bale
monkey, black and white colombs monkey and many birds species.
Overnight Harenna Forest 2700m
Day 09: Morning after breakfast
from Harenna to drive slowly bale goba, stop the way many place to have chance to see
Ethiopian Wolf and many birds,
Trips end and start drive from Goba to Addis Ababa
