About the Founder (Abdisa Ahmed)

Hello! “My name is Abdisa Ahmed, I was born in Bale Dinsho, in the heart of the Bale Mountains national park and I’m the founder of Bale Mountains Brilliant Tours Ethiopia.  At the age of 19, my main objective in starting this company was to promote local tourism and introduce more people to the beauty of the Bale Mountains and Ethiopia as a whole. I want to provide clients with a better level of service and an overall unforgettable experience. I believe that through this. I took out numerous researchers interested in the area’s birdlife, wildlife, plant life and ecosystems.

After sometime, I have been working as a guide in Bale Mountains National Park for 4 years. During this time, I have continuously improved my guiding knowledge and services, Afterwards, I again started work as a freelance guide who specialized in Bale but travelled extensively throughout Ethiopia especially for those who were interested in bird watching, wildlife viewing and cultural excursions.  I have dedicated myself to this work and improving the services I provide.

I received my Tour Guide Diploma from the Batu Terara College and Hotel College in Goba near Bale Mountains, and graduate my first degree in accounting and finance from Madda-welabu University in the same city. Additionally, I have successfully completed numerous guide training programs provided by the Frankfurt Zoological Society and Bale Mountains National Park, and I’m always learning from my experiences with clients.  Recently, I have decided to start this tour company as a continuation of improving the quality of tourism services that I provide and those provided in Bale. Although I specialize in tour guiding throughout Bale, my work has taken me throughout Ethiopia and I have become familiar with all the popular tourist destinations that the country has to offer.

I am also knowledgeable with Ethiopian history, numerous Ethiopian cultures and Ethiopia’s natural history.  I’m fluent in Amharic, Afan Oromo and English.  Guiding is my passion, and I’m dedicated to both this field of work and honing my skills in it.”
